With its unorthodox “no-brand-name” and minimalist store layouts, MUJI has become a respected brand on a global scale despite its lack of presence outside of Japan. Nevertheless MUJI’s well-stocked stationery collection has teamed up with LEGO on an interesting project. Combining LEGO’s traditional block creations with paper, you’re able to add a new dimension to pre-existing LEGO build-outs. Unfortunately, these will only be available through MUJI stores.
The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City will be soon opening a retrospective showcase of Tim Burton’s iconic work within its walls. Seen here is a preview of whats in store as well as a description of the exhibition, running through April 26th, 2010, courtesy of the MOMA.
“This major career retrospective on Tim Burton (American, b. 1958), consisting of a gallery exhibition and a film series, considers Burton’s career as a director, producer, writer, and concept artist for live-action and animated films, along with his work as a fiction writer, photographer and illustrator. Following the current of his visual imagination from early childhood drawings through his mature work, the exhibition presents artwork generated during the conception and production of his films, and highlights a number of unrealized projects and never-before-seen pieces, as well as student art, his earliest non-professional films, and examples of his work as a storyteller and graphic artist for non-film projects. The opposing themes of adolescence and adulthood, and the elements of sentiment, cynicism, and humor inform his work in a variety of mediums—drawings, paintings, storyboards, digital and moving-image formats, puppets and maquettes, props, costumes, ephemera, sketchbooks, and cartoons. Taking inspiration from sources in pop culture, Burton has reinvented Hollywood genre filmmaking as a spiritual experience, influencing a generation of young artists working in film, video, and graphics.”
An opening is scheduled for Sunday, November 22nd, 2009 with further information available here.

Another one from the Shaolin hip hop collective – Following up on OB4CLII, Ghostdini and Wu-Massacre, it’s evident the clan is still highly capable of dropping solid heat, as seen this year. Their latest video highlights U-God’s latest single with Method Man, Wu-Tang. This off his latest LP, Dopium which is now. Check it out.
The 13thWitness drops another cool piece of cinematographic work with his latest video, The NYC HandBallers. The piece features the game of American Handball through New York’s urban landscape offering an encompassing view of the game’s skills and techniques.

If you are a fan of horror films, you are going to love the latest low budget movie to come out of the US. Despite the fact it was only shown on 160 screens across the US, it took $7 million at the box office on its first weeknd.
Made on a budget of only $15,000 the makers were nervous about the reception it would receive and initially let university students see it for free. They then asked them to vote online if they liked it, and promised to release it when 1 million people had voted. Clever !
The film is made mostly on a hand held camcorder and is about a young couple who have just moved into their fitst home in San Diego. The become convinced that a demonic presence lurks in their bedroom and decide to set up a video camera to watch it!!
It isn't released in the Uk in November but you can watch the trailor below. Check out the audience reaction.
Tom might have been officially removed from power at MySpace, but he’s still officially a “friend” to millions of the site’s members.
However, he’s now poking around the social network that supplanted his own as top dog: Facebook. At least in the world of satirical Facebook profiles.
Complete with pokes from Rupert Murdoch, wall comments from Mark Zuckerberg (Mr Facebook himself), and astute observations about the differences between Facebook and MySpace), Comedy.com [click for full img] has done a stellar job at this one:
sound visualization, multi-touch interface, break beat performance engine, sonic navigation, sound storm visualization, time machine, interactive sound, time stretch tabla more at subcycle.org
Taking an unorthodox approach to their November issue, Playboy Magazine assisted in The Simpson’s 20th Anniversary with a revealing spread featuring everyone’s favorite animated mom, Marge Simpson. Up until now many had only seen the cover, but the scandalous images are now surfacing on the net. For those feeling frisky, they can be seen below.

A Japanese hidden camera show called 'Panic Face King' goes extreme on this poor guy, luring him into a fake meeting in which everyone is killed by a sniper except for him. He is definitely the panic face king.
I'm no warmonger, but I can think of no finer way to waste Friday afternoon than spending 10 minutes of the company's time watching bullets striking various objects at one million frames per second. The footage is just totally unbelievable.
To reach far beyond typical high speed photography (keep in mind, we're talking over 41,000 times the speed of traditional film), the footage was captured using dual Shimadzu HPV-1 cameras shooting at a scant 312x260 resolution. Regardless, the black and white tonal detail is still more than good enough to astound.
For a special treat, load the clip around 7:30 in to watch what happens when a hollow point bullet strikes what looks like cement. The bullet's clinical deconstruction...I don't even know what to say, other than I have an inkling why those bad boys are illegal no idea why those bad boys aren't illegal (sorry, I get all my bullet knowledge from 80s movies).
Drake’s latest music video Forever featuring a heavyweight supporting cast including Kanye West, Eminem and Lil’ Wayne has been unveiled. Little chit chat at work about who to point the finger at when it comes to the nations binge drinking below is a vid of Dave Trott on GMTV: Is advertising to blame for binge drinking?
and in the words of Mr Flo Heiss
Is the English language responsible for swearwords?
Is the pan responsible for food poisoning?
Is the telephone is responsible for blackmail?
Is the internet to blame for porn?
GMTV = Daily Mail TV.
which i totally agree with, responsibility is down to the end user at the end of the day.
In order to make the point that it will deliver to its customers anywhere, not just to their homes, Domino's, working with Indie Amsterdam, decided to park actual doors in unexpected places like the park and the beach, to serve as actual delivery and pick-up points.
I cant believe how good music videos are at the moment, but this one takes the biscuit!
The Wu-Tang Clan unleash their latest piece of work with a music video for their J Dilla produced single, “House of Flying Daggers” Utilizing their trademark martial arts aesthetic, the group managed to fuse in different Hip Hop elements into the animation, bringing forth this eclectic montage. The record itself will be on Raekwon’s highly anticipated, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx II album due out this September 8th, 2009.
Another quality Music video production, all these videos are makin me smile. Plus im loving the tune, but tbh honest it didnt really need Rhianna, she just slows the track down, but glad they didnt use a sample instead espacially as mr West features on the track.
In my opinion there are very few DJ's that I know personally who I can see making it big Nationally and Internationally, who has the imagination to keep the most diverse crowds entertained and who isnt afraid not to play a track just because ever other micky mouse Dj's are playing it on the scene.
I do beileve that this DJ has no where hit his full potential, but when he does the world will hear about it massivly.
I have almost all his mixes on my iPod and my favourite has to be the Alize Remixed competiontion mix where its simply put as 10 mins of genius which he went on to win and did the warm up set for the world famous Grand Master Flash!!!!!
Aswell as representing the UK in the DMC battles numerous time DJ Cable needs help to win his next stage of competitions. The Grolsh Bloc Party competition.
All you have to do is click the link below and click on the thumbs up it will take 2 mins of your time!!!

As you may of heard Sony are releasing a new line up of devices for the Sony Playstation 3 and could possibly be shipped with the Sony Playstation 3 Slim and Playstation 3 lite models due for release before the years end. Anyway here is a clip from the E3 showing off the new Sony motion controller.
As you can see this is much like Microsoft’s Project Natal which is a controllerless motion sensor device, things should get interesting later this year as to who will win the crown for best new device, you can expect this to hit the shelves in time for Xmas 2009.
AM stopped by Zevs’ “Liquidated Logos” exhibition at the Art Statements Gallery in Hong Kong to bring you an exclusive first look at this wild show. The French street artist known for “flipping the script” on world renowned brands such as Coca-Cola and Chanel, broadened his scope to include fashion icon Louis Vuitton. Using his trademark technique of “liquidation,” Zev showed the trendy residents of Hong Kong his reinterpretation of Murakami x Louis Vuitton’s famous “multi colore” pattern among one of many iconic logos he has “liquidated”.
It seems fitting that the gallery is located in the very fashion conscious “Central” shopping district as Zev could easily share his “urban tastes” with the high end shops in the area. So easy in fact, Zev got hauled off by the local authorities for “vandalism” after being reported by the local hipsters (reported). Check out all the pics from the show after the jump.

In quite possibly the worst hip hop tune to ever be made coming out of the 50 Cent camp Phillips shamelessly collaborated with the jumped up loser by allowing him to use there superb Clown Video Viral. (See Below)
I don’t really know who is to blame here for the shocking collaboration, has the credit crunch hit Phillips so hard that they asked to be a major part of this super crap music video to sell more TV’s or was 50 pence trying to get more record sales by trying to piggy back off of what was until now a very good TV Product Campaign.
Seriously I sat and my desk and was a little bit sick in my mouth at how awful and disgusting this video is….. and the song is not even worthy to touch anyone’s eardrums.
I don’t normally rant about these things but I think the combination of Sun Stroke and 2 pints of cider at lunch has got me riled. The vile video is below
PS, Best part of the video is 2:39 in when quite possibly the worlds biggest ‘arse is revealed.
This ad for Amnesty International called Eye Tracking was recently installed on a bus stop in Hamburg, Germany - featuring a built-in camera and eye-tracking technology. When no-one is looking, the ad displays an image depicting a case of domestic violence. Once the camera detects an onlooker, it switches (after a delay), showing the same couple looking rather happy and normal.
The ad picked up the Cannes Lions 2009 Outdoor Silver Award and seems to make use of technology similar to that built into many digital cameras for blink and smile detection.
This is a brilliant use of technology that dramatically intensifies the ad’s already powerful message. I hope we see more interactive ads like this in the future.

The iPhone Dev-Team (no relation) have been teasing us for a little bit now with what they've been saying is an iPhone OS 3.0-compatible version of yellowsn0w, and tonight in a video presentation they unveiled ultrasn0w, which should let you unlock any iPhone on the market, running any version of the firmware from 3.0 on down. The trick to how they're getting the jailbreak hasn't been revealed yet for fear of Apple making a fix at the eleventh hour, but if everything goes according to plan, the new hacking software should be out Friday in time for the iPhone 3G S (no guarantee it'll work on the new device). Hit up the link to watch the magic happen right before your very own eyes.
In Japan today. After a month and half seven days a week most days going till midnight me and my crew have just about finished Transformers. I have never seen such a level of dedication from every crew member in a movie before.
Even today after the press in Japan and right before the premiere tonight, I have to sneak out to a digital house to approve the last few effect shots.
It has been a long hard road, but really fun one to travel. What you will notice that is strikingly different than Transformers 1, is the level of animation detail. The robot characters (42 in all), you really can feel empathy for them. What is also very different is the sheer scale of the movie. We have been very tight holding back much of the best imagery in commercials and trailers.
The way to see this movie is on IMAX. Never before has there been 4k rendered character animation shot on full IMAX 70 mm film. This is a first and the results are stunning. You will see Optimus Prime in a few shots where he is actually perfectly to scale on the IMAX 50 foot tall screens.
For IMAX, I created a slightly longer cut with more robot fighting. Four scenes were shot on IMAX cameras so the screen will fill the full IMAX screen for these scenes.
The innocent white demeanor of the Nintendo Wii is set to undergo an overhaul with the upcoming release of the “Kuro” version Wii. Taking on a dark, sleek look, the color is a departure from the usual cute Mario fanfare that is often associated with Nintendo. The black version will release first in Japan on August 1st, 2009.
Apparently it's an internal video to promote their new chicken wraps to staff...How this supposed to be 'funny' or 'cool', I have no idea...The fact that they have punchlines such as"more raps than PM Dawn" says it all really!
But seriously the video is a Par but the food is tooo much!
Young people expect high-quality news, music, games, downloads and social networks - and all for free. In this context, can media owners ever make their digital propositions pay?
The uproar that followed Facebook's decision in February to change the terms by which it stores users' content highlighted many of the issues faced by the owners of free media.
While Facebook may have millions of highly engaged users and the ability to profile them by demographic and interest, those users see it as a free service and have so far resisted most attempts to make it a viable advertising medium. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg continues to search for a way to make significant money from his property.
He is not alone. While there is no denying the success of media brands based on offering users free services or content, it is still far from clear how advertisers can relate to many of those free media services and how the media owners can make money from them.
Generation Free wants free websites, social networks, mobile applications, mobile downloads and games, and it does not expect to have its experience interrupted by ads.
As brands and media owners wrestle with that challenge, some observers have begun to question whether free digital media has a future. Richard Williamson, director at KPMG's media practice, says: "The argument that all content is moving to free is fallacious. As the internet becomes more sophisticated, polarisation increases.
"Premium content such as Club Penguin, World of Warcraft and [business network] Xing will go to subscription and the majority of more marginal or undifferentiated content will be forced to go free to gain any sort of audience."
As we move deeper into a recession, this question becomes more pertinent.
The time is ripe for a look at free content: to see how advertisers are using it, to look at whether and how the media owners are making any money and, crucially, to see if the free digital media model has a future.
Online
Online media consumption is booming. According to the latest European Interactive Advertising
Association Mediascope Study in November 2008, online is the only form of media that has increased in terms of consumption in the past year. Time spent watching TV and consuming print media have both declined, while time spent listening to the radio remains static.
Consequently, major providers of free digital media such as Google, MSN and Yahoo have become as established as ITV, The Sun and Capital FM. They have also become adept at working with brands.
Phil Macauley, head of commercial services at Yahoo, describes a recent campaign: "In February, Yahoo and Nissan ran a campaign in major ski resorts in Europe. This involved designated Nissan ski runs where photos were taken of skiers and uploaded to Flickr, where skiers could see themselves on the slopes. There was also in-resort après-ski activity, promoted online via targeted display advertising on Yahoo."
Brands are increasingly using the reach of free websites such as Yahoo to connect with their consumers in this way. Most notably, with the growth of broadband, websites are raising revenue from their content through pre-roll advertising around video-on-demand.
Jamie Estrin, managing director of The Web TV Enterprise, offers two examples: "Consider a 25-year-old man who visits Nuts.co.uk to find out about the latest action films being served a trailer for the new Rambo movie before he starts watching a video clip. Or a 20-year-old girl viewing an exclusive interview on the Girls Aloud website being served a 10-second ad for the latest Motorola music phone."
Taking the usual artistic road, Kanye West introduces his latest music video for the track “Paranoid”, off his critically acclaimed 808s & Heartbreak album. The video captures the track title accordingly with a sultry appearance by chart topper, Rihanna. Oh and alot of people been slagging this track/video but tbh I dont really like Kayne and I like this track/video, but still not my cup of tea.

Free for a limited time, Email 'n Walk for the iPhone lets you safely (in theory) compose e-mails while walking by displaying a video feed taken live from the camera underneath your message. So, now you can see where you're walking while you type, without the distraction of looking up every few seconds.
Of course, this will only show you what's directly in front of the camera, so you'll still have to be careful of low hanging tree branches and telephone poles.
So as we have just launched the second iteration of Augmented Reality application (Mac users should now be happier) we thought it a good time to give a HUGE shout to all those that have worked on the both the Augmented Reality element but also the great online advertising campaign that is currently supporting it.
We have had some great results from the campaign overall including some great PR; with the application being downloaded over 9,500 times in its first 3 weeks of release. Also 18% of people who hit the bmw.co.uk/z43d landing page downloaded the application.
But the guys didn’t stop at an online campaign and AR application. They also turned up at the crack of dawn to take the Z4 for a spin around London. Check out BMW Z4 vs. London
NEW YORK (Ad Age.com) -- For the first time since Visible Measures and Ad Age started publishing a viral video chart, a new campaign has nabbed the top spot. With 785,160 views, Vodafone's "Make the Most of Now" makes its debut as the week's most watched.
As a reminder, Visible Measures tracks viral campaigns for this chart; in some cases, a campaign can include multiple videos. In the case of "Make the Most of Now," Vodafone created several short videos, all of which are being measured.
Also new on the list: the Google Chrome shorts, a campaign the search giant recently extended to TV, and the uber-slick and sexy Chanel No. 5 ad that we've seen making the rounds on the web.
Namco is bringing its bodybuilders-running-through-buildings arcade game Muscle Koushinkyoku (lit. "Muscle March") to the Japanese WiiWare Channel.
The one-to-four player game will be released on May 26 for 800 Wii Points. Everything you want from a computer game! This new wii game is totally bonkers.
They actually have this game in the arcades to WTF! I wish I lived in Japan they are fucking crazy!
Now this promises to be the cinematic event of the summer. :o)
No, really. The bit at the end. With the plane. Epic.
The state of films at the moment makes me so sick that I havent been to the cinema since Slum Dog Millionaire, directors are running out of ideas and simply create shit. Official the worst movie ever even before its been released.
Adobe Flash® CS4 Professional (10.0.2) addresses a number of performance issues. Some key fixes are:

LONDON - Barclays is pitting Bartle Bogle Hegarty and Mather Communications, the Ogilvy Advertising conflict shop, against each other on a top-secret brief.
It is thought that the agencies are battling it out to handle advertising duties for a confidential product that is linked to the main Barclays brand but will be a group-wide initiative.
Neither agency’s existing advertising duties are thought to be affected.
Both agencies are currently on the Barclays roster. BBH handles the £25 million Barclays business and the £12 million Barclaycard account and produces the majority of the company’s consumer-focused ad campaigns.
The Ogilvy Group UK works on the company’s Barclays Wealth division and Barclays Capital accounts.
It picked up the former in 2006 and the latter in July 2008 after a pitch against undisclosed agencies. Before that, the account was at Saatchi & Saatchi.
A Barclays spokeswoman said: Both BBH and Ogilvy are on the Barclays roster to develop our brand, and we will continue to work with both agencies in the future. It’s business as usual.
BBH’s latest campaign for Barclays uses a voiceover from Stephen Merchant and sees a woman chasing porcelain piggy banks around her garden.
The ad promotes the company’s offset mortgage and is part of the bank’s one small step campaign, which saw the brand return to TV after an 18-month absence.
Apple on Friday revealed that Connor Mulcahey, a 13 year-old from Weston, Connecticut, as the winner of its billion app countdown contest.
He downloaded Bump (which allows users to send contact information between iPhones) –the App Store’s billionth download, to his iPhone.
Apple awards Mulcahey a MacBook laptop, an iPod Touch, an Apple Time Capsule backup system and a $10,000 iTunes gift card. What a haul just for downloading a single app!
Connor said he learned he won through an e-mail sent to his iPhone on Thursday as he was on the way home from baseball practice. The vice president of iTunes ad written him personally to congratulate him, and he didn’t believe the news at first, considering it a prank. He admits downloading quite a bit recently, trying to win the prize, like many others, its assumed.
Connor is keeping the MacBook for himself, but he’s giving the one he bought a few weeks ago to his brother and sister. His iPod Touch is going to his mom. And he’s going to try to sell his $10,000 worth of iTunes songs on eBay — unless the money is directly deposited into his iTunes account.
“Then I guess that’s pretty much unlimited downloads for life,” he said.
When the e-mail popped into my inbox with the subject “Packard Bell” I was magically transported to my early teenage years, maybe even younger or, at least, to a time before Apple ruled the earth and beige expensive beige PCs were the household norm. I don’t know much about Packard Bell and, all things considered, it’s a brand that is as memorable as the pigeon waddling outside the window of the coffee shop I am writing this from. But I do remember the one kid in my class who had the Packard Bell at home. I can’t remember what brand we had at our home. I know it wasn’t Packard Bell. Because this kid’s computer, a Packard Bell, sucked. Big time. We couldn’t play any games on this computer. It was slow and it was dull. Poor kid. Apparently Packard Bell has a whole other appreciation of its brand.
Chris Cunningham is back with a new ad for Gucci. Although the idea that the master of dark and disturbing music videos has teamed up with a fashion brand may be a surprising one, the collaboration is most successful, with Cunningham managing to make the first interesting perfume ad we’ve seen in some time. The spot also features a reworking of Donna Summer’s I Feel Love, which was produced and arranged by the director.
Best quote on the video I have seen goes to some dude on Grime Forum “this video takes man for some sort of cbbc presenter”
Thing is though some of Dizzee's best tunes have been from samples or big boy collaborations, like that tune he did with Basment Jaxx which is in my top 10 tunes of all time, im sure this will grow on me.
Just as i had posted about discovering the Nokia Barcodes this appeared on HypeBeast see! I have the finger on the pulse peops.
Referred to as the barcode of the future, a QR Code (Quick Response Code) is a matrix code which allows its contents to be decoded at high speed. Tokyo-based design agency SET has developed a new remake of the QR Code with artwork provided by Takashi Murakami. Although it serves as a faster means for ringing up/tracking merchandise, this new method is just another way to incorporate marketing into something that is somewhat meaningless to the average consumer albeit interesting to say the least.
Got major love from the guys at YouTube for the whole concept and design from the Barclaycard competition created at dare, we made it onto their Daily post which in my eyes is a big achievement especially with the amount stuff that goes on at YouTube. Really happy to have been part of the process from start to finish.
Crappy name, but they have really nailed the concept. You can even change the friction and elasticity in the preferences.
Its Amazing to see how everyone is linked, I started with Ghetto and is spiraled from there being linked with LastFM allows you to listen to collaborations etc straightaway
Kanye West offers us a glimpse into a series of photos shot by photographer Steve Shaw for Kanye West’s Louis Vuitton collaboration sneaker. Among the people making an appearance are also Yeezy’s girlfriend and model, Amber Rose.

Entitled the Lanceiro, this limited edition AM1 celebrates the culture of Pernambuco (the home state of SneakersBR) and the Manguebeat musical movement. Features include a blue leather upper symbolizing the flag of Pernambuco, a yellow air capsule symbolizing the sun, and speckled midsole which is a reminder of the mud and mangroves of the swamps, vital icons of the state’s culture that “baptized” the Manguebeat movement. Capping off the design is a heel tab featuring the emblematic phrase of Chico Science “Um Passo à Frente e Você Já Não Está Mais No Mesmo Lugar” (One step ahead and you’re no longer in the same place). Launching as a quickstrike release, the kicks look to drop worldwide at select top tier Nike accounts soon. An even more distinctive edition, in a wooden package, will be distributed amongst influencers from around the globe in June 2009, the same time as a “Brazil Only” release.
Pretty cool stuff but dunno if it will catch on in a big way but I like the fact you can stick this image on websites or on the street, on flyers or practically anywhere, but it, good for embeding links that you can save and view straight from your phone.

Recently, Nokia launched a new photo browsing application, simply called Nokia Photo Browser, for its touchscreen smartphones, like the 5800 XpressMusic and the upcoming N97. However, yesterday, they updated the application for non-touchscreen smartphones, such as my favorite the E71!
The Nokia Photo Browser makes it much easier and faster to browse through your photos by presenting them in a flowing grid layout. You can use the d-pad to manuever through the grind, and then click to zoom in on a specific image. The left softkey brings up the options menu, including the face tracking feature. Face tracking is useful if you have a photo with several faces, you can scroll through the faces individually, with the software automatically zooming in on each face. The right softkey exits the application.
Blatantly ripped the CoolIris browser application though
